TechShop London

In collaboration with the City of Westminster's Economic Development Team and TechShop, Scout led a feasibility report exploring the potential for a new London-based facility.

TechShop is a membership-based, do-it-yourself workshop and prototyping studio that provides makers of all ages and skill levels affordable, open access to a wide range of tools, equipment, resources, and workspace. The feasibility report outlined potential partners within the London maker community and how the project meets key local, regional and national policy ambitions.

Since 2006, TechShop has opened six locations across the U.S, from San Francisco to Detroit to Austin. It has provided members the tools and support they need to launch dozens of companies and create thousands of new jobs in the process. TechShop partners with universities, community colleges, corporations, nonprofits and companies big and small.

TechShop recently announced the opening of its first facility in Europe, TechShop Munich in partnership with BMW Group and UnternehmerTUM, the Centre for Innovation and Business Creation at Technical University Munich.

This project aims to offer a unique maker space to London and enable entrepreneurs, tinkerers, product developers and students to build their dreams.

The report is currently being considered.
